Drunk Driving My very first client when I began practicing on my own was a former secretary who had been arrested and accused of driving under the influence of alcohol. With nothing else to do, I bought and poured through a three-volume set of Erwin's treatise entitled Defense of Drunk Driving Cases, as well as every other book on the subject that I could get hold of. We then litigated the hell out of that case, eventually reaching a settlement just prior to trial. Since then, I have gone through numerous jury trials on behalf of people arrested for drunk driving.
